Beautiful smooth painted walls and ceilings don't just happen with a few passes of the roller. Eighty percent of my time spent on them can be attributed to preparation. Repairing, filling, sanding, washing and the blocking of grease and stains is absolutely crucial to the perfect finish. Then when it comes to the final stage, it's all about which kind of roller you use and which type of paint you apply. Short pile, long pile, matt, silk, vinyl or emulsion. It all makes a huge difference to the finished look.
If you've ever had a go, you'll know that hanging wall paper is not nearly as easy as it looks. Even working out how much you need can be tricky with the pattern match. You need to know what types you can choose from, depending on the condition of your walls, and whether they will need to be lined. Then there is what to do with fresh plaster and how to avoid wrinkles or edge gaps. Plus, of course, how to deal with those tricky corners, radiators and fixings. It's quite an art to meet all these challenges and end up with a smooth and beautiful result.
When you stop to think about all the skirting board, chair rail, picture rail, panelling, door frames, architrave, doors, windows and sills there are around your house, it can certainly add up to a lot. So, if painted without skill and care it really can have a huge impact on the look and feel of your home. Taking the time to fully prepare, making the right choice of paint, whether that be gloss, satin or eggshell, and applying it in the correct manner makes all the difference and is what I can promise you.
Not sure whether to go bold or neutral? To match or to contrast? To have a feature wall? Go warm or go cool? Have a colour that pops or a completely natural pallet? Then perhaps you'd like a second opinion. I've seen it all, good and bad, from terrific to terrible and am more than happy to provide some free advice.
Modern floating floors are versatile and extremely popular. Whether made from solid wood or HDF (high density fibre board), the choice of sizes, colours, textures and special properties is vast and there is something out there for everyone. Many are water resistant and have scratch resistant and antibacterial coatings. Add to this the relatively cheap cost of installation with tongue and groove and click systems, plus its compatibility with underfloor heating and it's no surprise that everybody wants it somewhere.
My services are by no means limited to interior work only and I regularly take on exterior timber repairs, rendering repairs, guttering, upvc soffits and facias, masonry painting, jet washing, chemical cleaning plus the design and creation of patios and sun decks
